Welcome to my blog! I've been meaning to create personal website for a while, and I finally did it.

Who ?

My name is Zach Dale, and I'm a software engineer by trade and a distance runner at heart. I live in Chicago and work for a fintech company as a platform engineer.

I enjoy spending my time at the lakefront and playing sports with my friends. When I'm not here in Chicago, I often try to visit mountains and forests as I enjoy nature and type 2 fun. I also enjoy many other hobbies, such as photography, 3D printing, homelabbing, and video games to name a few.

Why ?

I've always enjoyed the essence social media. Having an identity on the internet, sharing your thoughts, and connecting with other people over their thoughts. At it's best, this is an amazing expression of progress and an incredible feat of technology.

It's no secret that social media has taken a turn or at least has become extremely fragmented. Nowadays it can feel healthier to avoid online all together. While I'm somewhere in the middle ground of avoiding vs. using social media, I wanted a place to express myself online.

What ?

I'm a curious person and have a lot of interests. My goal is to follow the curiousity and deepen my learning by refining and sharing here what I find helpful/interesting/fun.

I will be making blog posts on but not limited to running, tech, life, and travel.
